Laura Mae is currently in the editing stage of her first story: Little Brussels Griffon: Lost and Found. "There was a little Brussels Griffon dog who was very old. His eyesight wasn't as good as it used to be; he saw mostly dark and light shapes. Sometimes he would ruin into things." Hoping to have it in the iBookstore in a couple of months.
During the month of March I was able to build "Thistle's New Wand" for the iBookstore using Book Creator. At the end of March, I helped my mother seek approval to be a publisher on the iBookstore. This was completed on a monday, friday an email arrived confirming her approval. The first of April I uploaded the epub files to Apple. Then the wait begin. Today the first day of May Thistle's New Wand appeared in the iBookstore.
This has all be a new experience. The iBookstore has opened great possibilities to get books out there. The approval process to become a publisher was fairly simple. I helped my mother apply for an account on a Monday and she was approved that Friday. The approval of the book it self has not been so great. One month has past and they only thing we know the following statement. "This book is currently being reviewed for quality assurance." After looking around the internet I see this is not uncommon. We are looking forward to the day "Thistle's New Wand" shows up as approved. In the future my mother hopes to release series of illustrated ebooks about a cairn terrier she took in. Also my sister is in the process of illustrating "Ronald Rose" written by our talented cousin KAD.
